79bike Direct Mount Stem FAQ
Common questions about T-REX M6 bolts, 31.8mm clamp fitment, Falcon and Ventus One compatibility, rider posture, GIGIGO light bracket mounting, and optional 12.9-grade bolt upgrades.
Which bikes does this 79bike direct mount stem fit?
It is designed for 79bike Falcon Pro, Falcon Lite, Falcon GT, Falcon M, and Ventus One / Ventus 1+ builds using 31.8mm handlebars and a compatible four-bolt direct-mount upper fork crown.
Why upgrade from stock-style M5 bolts to M6 bolts?
M5 bolts are thinner and may be easier to strip, loosen, bend, or fail during hard jumps, rough landings, or aggressive riding. The T-REX M6 structure uses larger M6 bolts for stronger clamping force and better impact resistance.
Is this stem better for taller riders?
Yes. The approximate +20mm rise and +30mm reach help open up the cockpit for riders around 6'0", 6'2"+, or anyone who feels the stock handlebar position is too low or too close to the body.
Does it help with standing position riding?
Yes. The higher and slightly more forward position gives more space for your arms and legs, making standing position riding feel more natural, less cramped, and easier to control during off-road use.
Does it fit 31.8mm handlebars?
Yes. This product uses a 31.8mm clamp and is designed for standard 31.8mm handlebars. It is not designed for 35mm handlebars.
Does it work with the OEM screen bracket?
The OEM screen bracket is not designed for this direct stem setup. For proper screen fitment, please use this stem with the compatible SKRMOD 79bike screen mount.
Can I mount a GIGIGO light bracket on it?
Yes. The T-REX stem includes integrated mounting points for compatible GIGIGO light brackets, helping keep the front-end layout cleaner without stacking extra universal brackets around the cockpit.
Are 12.9-grade bolts included?
No. The product includes a set of 304 stainless steel screws. Optional 12.9-grade high-strength steel bolts can be purchased separately for riders who want a stronger hardware upgrade.
Do I need to modify the frame?
No frame modification is required when installed on a compatible 79bike Falcon or Ventus One setup with the correct four-bolt direct-mount upper fork crown and 31.8mm handlebar.
What should I check before riding?
Confirm your bike model, handlebar diameter, bolt length, fork crown layout, screen mount setup, and accessory clearance. Make sure all bolts are aligned and tightened evenly, then recheck the cockpit after the first ride.
